Data Sources

Service Area WIZARD is built on openly licensed data. Distances are straight-line distances between postcode centroids, and boundaries on the map are approximate. Neither should be relied on for legal or postal-delivery decisions.

Postcode and zip code locations

Postcode, zip code and place name data comes from GeoNames, licensed under CC BY 4.0.

UK data contains Royal Mail data © Royal Mail copyright and database right 2022, contains OS data © Crown copyright and database right 2022, and contains National Statistics data © Crown copyright and database right 2022.

Map boundaries

United Kingdom: postcode district shapes are generated by Service Area WIZARD from the GeoNames postcode locations above, so they're approximate. They're clipped to coastlines from the Office for National Statistics (Countries December 2024 Boundaries, licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0; contains OS data © Crown copyright and database right 2024) and Natural Earth (public domain).
United States: US Census Bureau 2020 Cartographic Boundary Files, ZIP Code Tabulation Areas (public domain). PO box and single-organisation zip codes have no shape.
